This was a perfect weekend project with my nephew. He loved the excavation process and learned so much about dinosaurs. We painted the completed model together using acrylic paints to make it more realistic. Great bonding experience!

Created a miniature Japanese garden
I customized my Botanical Terrarium to create a miniature Japanese garden with a tiny zen rock garden, bonsai tree, and koi pond. Used some polymer clay to create custom elements and painted the wooden base with a traditional Japanese pattern.

Modified to play a custom melody
I modified the music mechanism to play "Für Elise" instead of the standard melody. This required reconfiguring the pin placement on the cylinder, but the result was worth it. Also added some brass inlays to the exterior for a more elegant look.

I enhanced the Arctic Research Station with a custom lighting system that simulates the aurora borealis. Used fiber optic strands and color-changing LEDs to create the effect. The station looks amazing at night with the lights dimmed!
